FVL Musicfest going virtual on January 31

Musicfest will look and feel dramatically different this year. Scheduled for January 31, 2021 from 1-3 PM, this annual celebration of student musical talent is going virtual.

While the excitement and fellowship of the live event may need to take the year off, many of the familiar aspects will still be coming to you online.

Thanks to technology, friends of FVL will be able to “tune in” from around the Valley, the country, and even the world to see performances by FVL’s talented singers, instrumentalists, pianists and more. Plans are still in the initial stages, so be prepared for some surprises during the day as well. No need to worry about bad weather this year!

Viewers will also be treated to updates on the different FVL music programs by their leaders. Hear from new FVL Schools Band Director Elisabeth (Potratz) Wagner as she shares about the renewed growth of our grade school band program even in the midst of a pandemic.

For those of you who can’t imagine a Musicfest without a basket auction—good news! Forty select baskets will be available as part of an online auction that day. Watch the Musicfest web page for details on how to register and participate. Pick-up arrangements will also be shared on that page.

Thanks to our FVL Alumni Alive group, a special matching fund opportunity of $2,750 will be available for those interested in supporting this effort. Musicfest is an important fundraiser for our school’s excellent music program.

As plans are finalized details will be shared online and in FVL’s social media posts. Mark your calendars now for this fun afternoon of music and more.
