Spring Sports Updates

  • The Foxes girls soccer team took 5th in conference and finished with a record of 6-13-1.
  • FVL Baseball was 13-13 this year and finished 6th in conference. They lost in regionals against Shawano 3-1.
  • Softball had a historic season. They were undefeated, 18-0 conference champs. They finished the regular season 24-0 and regional champions.
  • Both boys and girls track & field teams had strong seasons. Taking a combined fifteen athletes to the State Track Meet, FVL was represented in twelve different events. Jacoby Dobberstein made the podium, taking 6th place in the boys 300m hurdles (39.47); and the girls 4x200m relay team (Mya Burleton, Faith Schumacher, Cailyn Groth, and Alaina Patchett) also made the podium, taking 6th place (1:45.30).
  • The boys tennis regular season record was 4-6. They took 3rd place at the conference tournament.
  • In boys golf, the team faced a challenging season, with the Foxes finishing 9th overall in the conference standings. Kaden Kusserow had an outstanding season, earning First Team All-Conference honors and finishing 3rd overall in the Player-of-the-Year standings. He was the lone Foxes golfer to qualify for Sectionals and qualified for State. 

Faculty & Staff News

This summer, FVL welcomes four new called workers: Miss Maddie Lange will be joining the English Department; Mr. Darin Stewart will serve as our Athletic Director; Mr. Jesse Nofftz will be teaching social studies; and Mrs. Jennifer Vik will be a new math teacher. 


Two called workers have said goodbye at the end of the 2024-25 school year: Mr. John Giddings will be serving as a science instructor at Kettle Moraine LHS. Mr. Mark Stein will be teaching science at Manitowoc LHS. 


In staff news, Mrs. Kathy Kolell and Mrs. Laurie Penterman have retired at the end of the school year. Mrs. Michelle Weller and Mrs. Robin Bromm have left their positions, while Mr. Liam Kopp is leaving to study abroad in Japan. Mr. Charles Flunker will be joining our staff as our on-site substitute teacher and Mrs. Elizabeth Molitor will be working in a new position as the Guided Study Hall Supervisor in our Student Services department. We also have filled our study hall supervisor position with an individual to be named at a later date, as she doesn't begin work at FVL until mid-August. FVL also welcomes Mrs. Mary Robinson who will be working part-time in the school office, as well as our new AD Assistant and volunteer coordinator, Julie Sieg. Currently, FVL has a call out to fill the IT-Network Engineer position, and we are still looking to fill a part-time media center position and a full-time custodial assistant position.

Honors for FVL Staff

Congratulations to Mrs. Jill Dolan, who was awarded the Fox Cities Chamber Excellence in Education Shining Star Award for her outstanding education in our art department. She was recognized for this achievement in a special banquet on March 13.

Student Honors

  • Gigi Flink (Class of 2025) and Ava Klinger (Class of 2026) finished in the top five places at the state Future Business Leaders of America competition and are eligible to compete at Nationals this summer.
  • For VEX Robotics, Team 5062X (Ruth Dorn, Alex Krueger, Andy Lee, Hunter Neider, and Noah Nolte) and Team 5062V (Seth Brooks, Josh Deboer, Adam Erdmann, Andrew Roberts, and Isaac Roberts) competed in the VEX World Championship in Dallas, TX, after having qualified at State.
  • The following students medaled at State in Forensics: GOLD: Sarah Groth, Meyah Ring, Naomi Doriot and Allison Lueddecke, Scarlett Storey, Samara Tucher, Isabella Hess, and Quentin Graul; SILVER: Sydney Pribbernow and Rosalie Mikkelson, Liam Sommerfeldt, Evan Kempf, Laura Friemark, Brynlee Jeffries, Clarissa Hinz, and Emily Groth (double-entered); BRONZE: Anna Buschkopf, Brooke DeBraal, Logan Rodock, and Emily Groth (double-entered).
  • Senior Nadia Wingerter was awarded a letter of commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Program for her outstanding achievement on the ACT.
  • Senior Noah Nolte has been recognized by the National Honor Society with a scholarship.


Senior Greta Nolte, was recognized by Center Stage as the top female performer of the year for her performance of Kala in Tarzan: The Stage Musical. This recognition entitled Greta to a trip to NYC for two weeks in June. There, she trained with some of Broadway’s most accomplished professionals in preparation for the annual Jimmy Awards, our nation’s top high school theatre award showcase, on June 23 at the Minskoff Theatre on Broadway. FoxFest 2025

was held at the Hilton Appleton Paper Valley in April. Due to the generosity of those involved, proceeds of over $140,000 will benefit the ministry of FVL. Thanks to all for their support. Set your calendars and plan on joining us April 17 for the 2026 event!

Congratulations to our 2025 Prom King, Lincoln Boehm, who reigned over Prom Frolic festivities with his escort, Gianna Bay.

Poster Contest Winners

The winners of the 36th FVL Poster Contest were announced at school visits in April. Top awards went to the 3rd grade grand prize winner, Macy, of Mount Olive, Appleton and to the 4th grade grand prize winner, Violet, of St. Peter, Appleton. All first place winning posters will be displayed at FVL through next year and on the FVL website at fvlhs.org/poster. Congratulations to these young artists!

Annual Golf Outing

This year’s event was sold out with 208 players at Wander Springs Golf Course. Over $25,000 was raised to benefit FVL athletics! Congratulations to our winning teams: Tim Woldt, Derek Woldt, Jay Woldt, and Fred Berger on the River/Garden course; Daniel Schraufnagel, Mark Pucci, Doug Bauer, and Chuck Pendaloo on the Garden/Spring course; and Phil Mears, David Landig, Michael Anderson, and Tim Marsh on the Spring/River course.

2025-2026 Theme

Based on Psalm 62:1–2, the FVL Schools annual theme for next school year is Find Rest in God Alone. Thanks to Rev. David Wenzel of FVL for the idea and the FVL Religion Department for organizing monthly sub-themes. The design was created by Mrs. Sharon Ragner in the Communications Office.
