The opening of the 2023-24 school year brought exciting changes to the FVL Guidance Office. Growing enrollment and shifting roles have necessitated a restructure and expansion of Guidance Office personnel. An additional Guidance Counselor has been brought on to allow the Director to dedicate more time to his administrative duties, and to allow the Guidance Office personnel to continue to provide quality service to our growing number of students and families. We are happy to welcome the new Guidance Office personnel as well and the other new team members who have filled vacant faculty and staff positions.
Mary has been hired into our Business Office. She has a degree in Interior Design from Fox Valley Technical College. A member at The CORE in Appleton, Ms. Block has four children: Hayden (FVL Class of 2020), Stella (FVL Class of 2022), Macey (FVL Class of 2024), and Tessa (FVL Class of 2026).
Jeremy has been called to teach welding and Introduction to Mechanical Arts classes. Mr. Ellsworth is a graduate of the FVTC Welding and Metal Fab program. He is also an Industrial Manufacturing Technician journey worker, and welding journeyman. He previously worked at Ariens Co. in Brillion as a weld trainer. He and his wife Elizabeth have three children: Willa (6), Etta (4), and August (1).
Aleah was called to our Guidance Department as a counselor, and is working with juniors and seniors whose last names begin with F through N. Mrs. Friemark is a 2004 WLC grad with a degree in education. She also has a masters degree in education from UW-Stevens Point and Certification of Leadership from WLC. After teaching for years in public schools, FVL is Mrs. Friemark’s first call. She and her husband Adam have three children: Jack (FVL Class of 2025), Laura (14), and Thomas (10).
Jackie has been called to teach Spanish 1, Spanish 2, and World Literature. She graduated from MLC in 2008 and earned a masters degree in Leadership and Innovation from Wisconsin Lutheran College. She and her husband Joe (pastor at Mount Olive) have two children: Olivia June (7) and Luca (2).
has joined the faculty as one of four campus pastors. As such, he teaches Old Testament and Life of Christ. He will also coach track. Pastor Lehmann graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in 2009. He spent the next two years serving as a tutor at Martin Luther College and then was assigned to Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Iron Mountain, MI. He and his wife, Ruth, have four children: Elizabeth (6), Micah (5), Joshua (3), and Elijah (8 months).
Mr. Ben Perushek has been called to teach English, specifically Advanced American Literature and Advanced Language Arts 2. He earned a bachelors degree in English from WLC in 2014 and a masters in education from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota in 2021. He taught for three years at Neillsville High School and five years at Colby High School. Mr. Perushek and his wife Hailey have a three-year-old daughter (Ellie) and a one-year-old son (Caleb).
Mr. Tommy Stelter has been called to teach English and coach volleyball and boys basketball. He earned a teaching degree from MLC in 2013. Since then, he had been teaching, coaching, and serving as Athletic Director at St. Paul, Appleton.
Mrs. Amanda Voight was hired as an office assistant for our Guidance Office. She earned a degree in economics from UW-Stevens Point in 2008. Mrs. Voight and her husband Mitch have three children: Jordy (9), Corbin (8), and Gunnar (5).
Mrs. Heidi Wendland was called to serve as a guidance counselor, specifically working with juniors and seniors whose last names begin with O through Z. She received her degree from MLC in 2004, and has taught at Immanuel Lutheran in Salem, OR; St. Croix Lutheran Academy in West St. Paul, MN; Salem Lutheran in Woodbury, MN; and Mount Olive Lutheran in Appleton. She and her husband Jay (FVL Director of Mission Advancement) have three children: Stella (FVL Class of 2024), Carys (FVL Class of 2025), and Micah (14).
Mrs. Kristen Zuberbier was hired to our Guidance Department as a counselor, specifically working with freshmen and sophomores whose last names begin with M through Z. Mrs. Zuberbier earned both her bachelors (psychology) and masters (counselor education) degrees from UW-Platteville. Prior to being hired at FVL, she worked as a counselor at O.H. Shultz Elementary School in Mishicot for three years, then Sunrise Elementary School in Kimberly for nine years. Kristen and her husband, Cory, have three children: Levi (5), Micah (3), and Jace (5 months).
