By God's Grace

This past school year, the FVL community faced unexpected hardships. Yet those challenges were far outweighed by the countless blessings God provided, reminding us that he faithfully guides this ministry through every trial and every triumph.
We began the year with an enrollment of 831 students, a testament to the trust so many families place in Christ-centered education. When we unexpectedly needed a band director, God provided in remarkable fashion by bringing two former FVL band directors out of retirement to serve until a permanent director could be called. Throughout the year, our students excelled in academics, activities, and athletics—from a September Apple Bowl victory to a State Softball Championship in June, and everything in between.
God continues to bless FVL's future. In May, the General Board gave final approval for our classroom expansion. While a new mortgage will help make that project possible, God has already provided abundantly. Through the generosity of his people, nearly twice this year's annual mortgage payment was raised, allowing Bond "B" to be retired ahead of schedule, and generous gifts to other campus projects have helped clear the way for us to move confidently into the expansion campaign ahead.
James writes, "Consider it pure joy...whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance" (James 1:2–3). Looking back on this year, we can clearly see God at work—strengthening his people, providing for his ministry, and opening doors for the continued proclamation of the gospel.
As you read the stories in this issue, I hope you'll join me in thanking God for his unwavering faithfulness.
