FVL NEWS - Cocurriculars & School
Spring Sports Updates
- The Foxes
girls soccer
team finished with a record of 6-10-2.
- The
baseball team
finished the season with a 14-12 overall record and an 8-6 conference mark, earning 4th place in the conference standings. The team got off to a historic start, opening the season 7-0. Offensively, the Foxes were led by freshman Jackson Thede, who hit .361, along with juniors Luke Heimerl (.353) and Wyatt Schlueter (.358). On the mound, Jack Schlueter and Luke Heimerl anchored the pitching staff, combining for 78 innings pitched and a stellar 2.20 ERA.
- Meanwhile,
softball
had an astounding season. They finished the regular season with a 20-3 record and were co-Champions of the Bay Conference. The team became WIAA State Champs for the first time after their 9-1 victory over Pewaukee. Top performers on the team include Madi Babcock (#1 pitcher in the Bay Conference) and Claire Pfrang (Highest batting average in the Bay Conference).
- Both
boys and girls track & field teams
had strong seasons. Taking a combined twelve athletes to the State Track Meet, FVL was represented in eight different events. Student-athletes to make the podium include Grant Wolfrath (4th in 110m Hurdles [14.80]), Jacoby Dobberstein (4th in 300m Hurdles [38.95]), Tyler Dequaine (4th in Long Jump [22-08.00]), and the 4x200m Relay team of Tyler Dequaine, Blessings Kapande, Jackson Mayer, and Jacoby Dobberstein (8th place at 1:29.71).
- The
boys tennis team
finished the regular season at 4th place in the Bay Conference. Junior Joshua DeBoer had the top individual record on the team: 11-2.
- Although
boys golf
had a difficult season in a very competitive conference, all returning golfers improved on their averages from last year. Notably, Kaden Kusserow, in a Bay Conference meet in Shawano, scored an amazing round of 4 under par 32—the lowest score for a 9-hole competitive meet in FVL history. In the WIAA Division 1 Regional Tournament, Foxes finished 8th overall, and Kaden Kusserow finished 6th overall, qualifying him for the Sectional Tournament on June 1.
- For
lacrosse, the boys finished second in the conference with an 8-1 record and an overall season record of 11-5, while the girls sat atop the Bay Valley Conference this year, securing 1st place out of eight teams with a stellar 11-3-1 finish.

Student Honors
The VEX Robotics team had two teams represent FVL in St. Louis at the World Championships. While both teams finished 4-8 against top-notch competition, they all had fun nonetheless. All 29 Speech (formerly Forensics) team members who participated in the State Speech Meet in Madison in April earned medals (12 gold, 15 silver, and 2 bronze). Notably, senior Meyah Ring was one of only 26 students in the state to become a four-year gold recipient! Additionally the whole program was recognized with the “Excellence in Speech” award. Junior Asher Wingerter earned an impressive perfect score on his ACT.
