Supporting the Future

We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, his power, and the wonders he has done (Psalm 78:4).

Christian estate planning is an opportunity to witness to your loved ones after the Lord has called you to be with him. It is a blessing to plan and provide comfort, strength, and guidance through your estate plan. You can express your prayers for their lives and your desire to share heaven with them. You can provide resources for ministries like Fox Valley Lutheran High School to prepare teens for lives of service and for eternity.

We can glorify God by preparing for the unexpected. Through Christian estate planning, we provide for our children and loved ones by carefully stewarding our possessions. There is comfort knowing plans are in place with people designated to carry them out.

Leaving a Legacy

Supporters of Fox Valley Lutheran High School are often looking for opportunities to leave a legacy for the next generation. One way is through gifts to the FVL Foundation. Since 1967, the FVL Foundation has provided funds for tuition assistance, teacher development, and mission advancement.

Still others have established or enhanced various endowments at FVL. The Glory to God Leadership Scholarship was established by a 2020 graduate to provide a one-time scholarship to a graduating senior who has lived the mission of this scholarship guided by Colossians 3:17 Whatever you do…do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Additional scholarships like the Buss Called Worker Scholarship and Goese Ministry Scholarship support FVL graduates studying for the public ministry, while the Payne Memorial Scholarship assists current FVL students. There are many more scholarships like these. Scroll down to read the stories behind some of our scholarships.

Scholarship Stories

Amy Towner Memorial Scholarship

Amy Towner was a 1998 graduate of Fox Valley Lutheran.

From little on, Amy wanted to be a teacher. To pursue that goal, she attended Martin Luther College, graduating in 2003 with degrees in elementary education and staff ministry. The summer that she graduated from MLC, she received her first cancer diagnosis.

After healing from surgery, she was hired as a teacher in El Paso, Texas. Unfortunately, her medical problems ended Amy’s career as a teacher, and she returned home to Appleton. During the next twelve years of her life, Amy had seven more bouts of cancer. During all of her illnesses, she was cared for by so many wonderful doctors and nurses. Her last bout of cancer occurred in October of 2015. At that time, she was told that there was nothing more that could be done and that she should return home and put her affairs in order. Amy died on February 7, 2016 secure in the knowledge that she would be with Jesus in heaven. We look forward to a joyful reunion when the Lord calls us home.

During all of her life, and even in her death, Amy showed her Christian faith by loving and serving both God and other people.

This scholarship has been established by her parents for a student pursuing a degree in nursing or education. This is a $1,000 scholarship, renewable for 4 years based on GPA.

Buss Called Worker Scholarship

Dave and Lynn Buss have been longtime supporters of Fox Valley Lutheran High School and Christian education. They particularly appreciate the Called workers (pastors, teachers, and staff ministers) that share God's grace with His people. They are concerned with the tuition debt incurred by students at MLC, Wisconsin Lutheran College, and Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary. With this scholarship, they hope to reduce the tuition burden of future Called workers.
